I have been told me that my three best decisions recently are that
I have written my will, I have downsized all my lifetime of junk from a large house to a small one, and that I have written my funeral service.
You know YOU best.
You know what you want to be remembered for and you know which achievements made you proud.
Your children or grandchildren don't know.
If you don't tell them then I have to rely on what they know and their lack of knowledge sometimes makes me want to weep.
You may be lucky; your son may be the next Shakespeare with a memory like an elephant, but more often, when asked about Mum or Dad, there is long silence followed by 'She liked Coronation Street - oh and shopping'
Often not knowing that you were County swimming champion in 1958 or that you climbed Everest in 1963.
